Thermo Fisher Scientific Introduces Dynamic Heat Load Suppression Technology with its New Temperature Control Systems for Highly Dynamic Laboratory and Pilot Applications
NEWINGTON, NH, (February 5, 2007) – Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has introduced new Dynamic Heat Load Suppression technology, one of the unique selling points of its Thermo Scientific HAAKE DynaMax™ 1200 and 1700 Sealed Temperature Control Systems. These Thermo Scientific systems respond rapidly to dynamic temperature changes and are ideal for critical laboratory and pilot applications including jacketed reactor vessels, large rotary evaporators, reaction calorimetry, fermentation and analytical instrumentation cooling.
The DynaMax 1200 and 1700 systems incorporate new Dynamic Heat Load Suppression (DHLS) technology that enables fast cool down times. Fast ramp up times are possible because the system design minimizes the fluid volume being heated. Due to the DynaMax systems’ fast reaction times, users can perform more experiments in less time. Together, DHLS technology and the system design enable highly precise temperature stability (± 0.01 K) over a wide temperature range (-40°C to 150°C and -45°C to 150°C respectively). The equipment’s ability to perform equally well over a wide temperature range gives users a high degree of flexibility.
DynaMax units are designed to safeguard the system, the environment, the application, and the user from potential harm. Pressure, flow and temperature sensors ensure that each system operates safely, and an alarm sounds to notify the user if there is a problem with the system or application. Should application limits be exceeded during an exothermic reaction, the mixing valve on the cold storage tank opens to bring the system back within prescribed limits. Step-bystep procedures for filling, self-degassing, fluid and system optimization, and draining help ensure operator safety. DynaMax sealed systems are also easy to use and feature intuitive menu programming. Programmable in seven languages, the controller can store 10 ramping programs with up to 30 segments.
