Thermo Fisher Scientific Extends Application Range for High End Rheometer
New Optical Module for High Temperature Applications and New Measuring Cell for UV-Assisted Thermal Curing Now Available
Karlsruhe, GERMANY and Düsseldorf, GERMANY (October 25, 2007) – Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, announced today at the International Plastics and Rubber Trade Fair K 2007 the extension of the application range of its high end rheometer, the Thermo Scientific HAAKE MARS. New applications include the RheoScope HT, an optical module for high temperature applications, and a measuring cell for UV-assisted thermal curing.
The new RheoScope HT module simultaneously records rheological properties and changes in the microscopic structure of a tested sample at high temperatures. By bringing together rheological measurements with optical analysis, microstructures can be analyzed visually to obtain more information about a sample’s mechanical properties based on a more detailed analysis of e.g. shear thinning, dilatancy, thixotropy, aging, emulsification and melting behavior.
Key features of the new RheoScope HT module for high temperatures:
In addition to the new RheoScope HT module, the company today introduced a new measuring cell for UV-assisted thermal curing. For tests on UV-hardening materials, a standard version of a UV-cell and a customizable measuring unit with freely configurable distances for optical components such as light guides, condensers and glass plates are now offered. The UV-measuring cell helps customers optimize their production processes while replacing thermal curing by UV-assisted thermal curing, leading to improved product properties, increased productivity and reduced production costs. The new measuring cell is focused on applications such as powder coatings, adhesives, sealants, soldering materials, and inks.
Key features of the new measuring cell for UV-assisted thermal curing:
More information on the new RheoScope HT module and the UV curing cell as well as new trends in rheometry and compounding, or measuring mixer & extruder systems, is provided in hall 10, booth A60 at K 2007.
