Thermo Fisher Scientific offers a broad international rheology seminars program in 2009
Focus on applications with practical instruction
Karlsruhe, Germany (January 20th 2009) – Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, announced it will offer a global program this year of basic rheology seminars and specialist seminars on various subjects in material characterization.
With a focus on specific applications along with hands-on instruction, these seminars are designed to help users optimize their current application as well as develop new and innovative applications. Seminars are being held at the company’s training centers in Karlsruhe (Germany), Somerset (New Jersey/USA), Breda (Netherlands), Paris (France), Mumbai (India) and Shanghai (China).
At one-day compact seminars, attendees receive instruction on how rheological measuring methods can be used efficiently. Led by multidisciplinary speakers, rheological topics are either covered in general or focus on a specific application as noted in the list below.
The basic seminar “Applied Rheology” provides detailed theoretical and practical knowledge to enable attendees to carry out and interpret rheological measurements in a qualified manner. This seminar includes the following modules, which can also be booked individually:
- Basics and rotational testing
- Thermo Scientific HAAKE RheoWin software
- Viscoelasticity, creep and oscillatory testing
In specialist seminars aimed at experienced or trained rheologists, renowned external speakers cover the topics of polymer rheology and extensional rheology in more detail through practical training.
In 2009, the company, well-known as one of the pioneers in the field of rheology, will offer for the first time, rheology seminars in China and the U.K. to complement its broad international seminars program.
